Las Vegas with Sean & Sarah, July 2005

On our first day we took a morning trip out to Red Rock Canyon

Impressive cloud formations in Red Rock Canyon

Chilling before we head out to see the sights

Apparently there had been some fire damage not long after we came

The sudden change in the color of the strata is very striking.

More strata

After lunch, we went to the Liberace Museum. This is the entrance to the costume gallery

Full shot of the exterior of the costume gallery. (We didn't take pictures of the actual museum, because it wasn't very interesting, and of course we weren't allowed to take pictures inside.)

The famous Vegas sign. We weren't sure whether it was still there or not, but it is -- it's at the south end of the strip, just past the last of the hotels.

On Saturday night we went down to the old casino area. This cowboy is a famous landmark from the early days of Vegas

Fremont St was the main strip of old Vegas. Recently they've put a roof over the main part of it, and they have a multimedia show projected on the ceiling.

There are several shows put on at different times; the one we saw was a little strange -- something to do with aliens invading earth.

They get beaten in the end, of course.
