We hadn't seen Shirley since 4,000 feet and I figured she'd just decided not to continue up. As it turns out though, she was already ahead of us at the park entrance (come to think of it, I must have known she was ahead of us; I guess when you climb for hours on end you get very focused. Or maybe I was getting light-headed because of the rarefied air...). In fact we rode right by her and she missed her photo op! However, she did catch this photo of us as we continued on up the crater after a snack stop just past the entrance. The weather had been beautiful all day long, but now we were seeing a bit of mist.
